Celebrate a Birthday, Reconnect a Family
Li-Da’s Birthday Fundraiser: €2,122 Raised
After more than 50 years, Li-Da is finally close to discovering who her birth family are. As co-founder of the Reconnecting Cambodia Project, she is turning her own search into hope for other Cambodians separated from their families by war, genocide, adoption or poverty.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who supported her birthday fundraiser, €2,122 was raised to help RCP continue its work in Cambodia, from raising awareness about DNA-led family finding to supporting family searches and providing free DNA testing.
Every contribution brings another family closer to finding the answers they have been searching for. One family at a time.
Chanserey’s Birthday Fundraiser: $577.06 Raised
Celebrating her 31st birthday and five years of volunteering with Khmer Family Charity Organization (KFCO), Chanserey marked this special milestone by supporting the Reconnecting Cambodia Project’s mission to help Cambodians find lost or missing family members.
As RCP’s Phnom Penh Representative, Chanserey has been part of the initiative from its early days, helping support its work on the ground in Cambodia.
Thanks to everyone who contributed, $577.06 was raised to support DNA-led family finding, family searches and free DNA testing.
Meta’s Birthday Fundraiser: €360 Raised
Meta Meulenbelt-Hörz’s journey with Cambodia began in 2002, when she and her husband adopted their daughter, Mean. Wanting to help Mean discover her birth family and understand her origins, Meta began a search that eventually led her to DNA as a tool for finding answers.
That personal journey grew into DNA Cambodia and the Reconnecting Cambodia Project, helping Cambodian families around the world search for lost or missing relatives.
Thanks to everyone who supported Meta’s birthday fundraiser, €360 was raised to help continue this important work.
Community Fundraiser
Mamapen & Slice Circle: A Slice of Support
Great things happen when communities come together! Throughout August, our friends at Mamapen and Slice Circle sold 106 pizza specials, their most popular special yet, and generously donated a portion of the proceeds to the Reconnecting Cambodia Project.
Thanks to their support, £265 was donated to help RCP continue its DNA-led family-finding work and support Cambodian families searching for lost or missing relatives.
A huge thank you to Mamapen, Slice Circle and everyone who enjoyed a pizza and contributed to our mission. Your support helps create more opportunities for families to reconnect, one family at a time.
