OUR BIGGEST OUTREACH EVENT IS HAPPENING IN OCTOBER!

DAY 1 - We’re excited to join Phare Ponleu Selpak for BAD BAND de Battambang: Lost & Found this October! It’s a night celebrating local artists, live music, creativity and the energy of Battambang.

Come along, enjoy the music, meet the team and find out more about family finding through DNA. We’re looking forward to seeing you in Battambang!

DAY 2 - We’re coming to Battambang this October 3rd!

Taking place around Pchum Ben, a time of remembering our ancestors and family connections, this outreach will focus on bringing family-finding services to a region that may hold important links for Cambodian families across the world.

Free DNA testing and food vouchers will be available.

Come find us, bring your questions, and share this with someone who may be searching too.

In collaboration with SEEAWA, we will be hosting a special daytime celebration filled with community, connection, culture and festive spirit on 28 November 2026

  • Congratulations Meta Meulenbelt(Reconnecting Cambodia Europe), for presenting at Wat Amrit’s community event in Halle, Belgium, on 15 June 2026. It was a much more ambitious event than last year. We are thankful that we were able to share our story and mission with so much more of the global Community. And success! Three more families joined our RC Project! We hope to have even more success next year.

  • We were thrilled to be invited to participate in the groundbreaking Khmer Diaspora Conference in Lowell (27–29 March), organised by our esteemed US Trustee Dr. Christine Su. Li-Da demonstrated DNA's transformative potential to reconnect Cambodian families globally—strengthening bonds between UK, Massachusetts and diaspora communities of artists, academics and leaders.

  • On November 8, 2025, Li-Da Kruger, Co-founder of the Reconnecting Cambodia Project, joined an intergenerational Table Talk event in Belgium, where she shared the organization’s mission. She also hosted a stall where participants were able to learn more about the work, connect with the team, and explore ways to take action.

  • On 27 November 2025, we gathered at the Frontline Club in London for “Bridging Memory and Community: A Gathering for Remembrance, Healing, and the Future of Belonging,” marking 50 years since the fall of Phnom Penh.

    The evening featured an inspiring program with Chris Moon MBE as Master of Ceremonies, alongside Li-Da Kruger, Meta Meulenbelt-Hörz, Dr. Turi King, Y Sok, Jon Swain, Leon Ung, Var Ashe Houston, Dr. Danielle Tran, and Amara Goel, with an interactive art tribute by Dayanny So.

    Together, we shared a space for reflection, dialogue, and collective healing, honouring the past and celebrating the resilience of the Cambodian community.

  • From October 17 to November 2, 2025, our international team arrived in Cambodia to assist individuals searching for family members, including parents, siblings, and children. Those who wished to take a DNA test were invited to contact our organization director at the KFCO office.

    A testing day in Phnom Penh was organized, and our team also traveled to nearby villages to share more about our work. We connected with individuals across the country who reached out to learn more or participate.

  • On October 24, 2025, we held a special screening and conversation at the Bophana Center in Phnom Penh, featuring the Khmer-dubbed version of Prue Leith: Journey With My Daughter. Our Country Director, Po-Thai Khin, who appeared in the film, shared his journey from being part of the documentary to founding our NGO. Guests joined a Q&A session to learn more about DNA testing and how it helps reunite families, and met our team to discover ways they can be part of this mission.

  • We’re grateful to have had our Co-Founder, Li-Da Kruger, moderate the Q&A session for Vakhim—a powerful feature documentary that follows two siblings adopted from Cambodia as they journey to find their birth mother. Held on Sunday, September 14, from 11 AM to 1 PM PDT, the event brought together audiences in a heartfelt conversation about love, family, and the unbreakable bonds that connect us to our roots.

  • This year, the Cambodia Town Film Festival (CTFF) commemorates the 50th year since the Khmer Rouge takeover—honoring the past, educating the present, and inspiring the future. The Reconnecting Cambodia Project (RCP) is proud to partner with CTFF and Rumduol to present Lost Children, a moving event that highlights family separation within the diaspora and offers hope through innovative DNA-based reunification efforts.

  • Co-founder Li-Da is grateful that the Cambodia Town Film Festival has selected Prue Leith: Journey With My Daughter to be screened alongside other outstanding works of regional talent. She will attend in Long Beach and take part in a live Q&A moderated by Professor Christine Su of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, a leading scholar in Southeast Asian studies.

  • Using the documentary as a platform to share her personal search for birth family and how DNA testing can provide answers when no other records exist, Li-Da will travel to both Long Beach and Lowell. At the film festival, she will amplify the Reconnecting Cambodia Project’s mission and connect with diaspora communities. As part of this effort, she will also bring free DNA kits for participants to join the project and take an active step toward reuniting with lost relatives.
